Here are 5 great reasons for you to be involved in Journey Kids:

  1. It’s FUN teaching, building friendships, and playing with the kids each Sunday!
  2. You are making a real DIFFERENCE for Jesus in the lives of families who will LOVE you!
  3. You will make some of the BEST FRIENDS by serving. We’ve got an incredible and fun team of over 30 committed volunteers.

Get involved!

Serving in Journey Kids is a great way to make a real difference while having fun, and there are a variety of areas to choose from:

Check-in:
Help welcome children and families to The Journey, and prepare their security tags as you check them into Journey Kids.

Monkeys: (Nursery: Birth - 3 years)
Provide care for little ones and have fun through various hands on crafts, activities and  playtime.

Zebras (3 years - Kindergarten)
Children at the preschool/Kindergarten level are incredibly curious about the world, and are learning things at an extremely fast rate! Through Bible Stories, creative activities, and worship, you will help children discover that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

Giraffes (1st - 2nd Grade)
The Giraffe’s Class is a great place to help children learn the biblical values of faith, friendship, and love. We use games, videos, small group discussion, and a fun environment to help children grades 1-2 experience God’s love for them and take steps of growth in their faith.

Lions (3rd-5th Grade)
In our Lion’s Class, we help the Kings of the Jungle (grades 3-5) focus on building the foundation of faith so that they can become world changers. Through music, Bible stories, videos, games, and activities children come to know God more deeply and develop their faith. Children learn how to make wise choices, that they can trust God no matter what, and how they should treat others.

All of our volunteers are trained to provide security and peace of mind for our families and are trained how to respond to any potential emergency situation.

Journey Kids Team Members and the Safety of Children

At the Journey, we take our ministry to children seriously.  That’s why our team consists of members in good standing at The Journey – all who have gone through a thorough background check, screening, and receive ongoing training to make each child experiences the best possible safety and care.

To ensure the safety of all children:
  • We provide secure check-in and check-out procedures.
  • We practice the "Two Adult" rule, and no child is ever left alone with an adult.
  • We take bathroom breaks as a class, so no child is out of the classroom alone at any time.
  • We provide security cameras in the Journey Kids area.
  • All Fire Exit doors have an alarm on them to prevent any child from slipping out undetected.
  • A Journey staff member is onsite at all times during Journey Kids.
  • All Journey Kids team members have been screened, background checked, and undergo regular trainings to ensure the best possible experience for your children.
